Early Position
To be one of the first to act after cards have been dealt is early position. This is also known as “weak” or “poor position”

Equity
The value you can expect to get out of a deal, worked out mathematically. To work out the equity, you multiply your probability of winning with the amount of money in the pot – If there is $25 in the pot and you estimate that you have a 20% chance of winning, then your equity in the pot if $5.
