Family Pot
Where every player at the table see’s the flop.

Fast
Refers to the speed of play.

Fifth Street
Also known as “the river” - the last community card dealt face up in Holdem

Final Table
The last table in a tournament, made up of those players that haven’t yet busted out and are still in the tournament with a fighting chance.

Fish
A player who is new to the game and doesn’t know how to play properly – fish tend to play loose and passive by calling too many of bets when they should be raising or folding.

Fixed Limit
A type of holdem, different to no limit, where to amount you are allowed to bet or raise is predetermined. This helps to keep pot size down and ensure you don’t lose too much money.

Flat Call
A flat call is where you simply call in a situation where you otherwise would have raised - “I would normally raise my pairs of tens, but with a raiser and two callers, I decided to flat call instead”

Float/Floating
Floating is where you call a bet so that you can take it down later, similar to a slowplay - You would call a player who you suspect of making a continuation bet hoping that they will check on the turn. You can then win the pot with a bet - you are floating over the other players flop bet looking for an opportunity to take the pot.

Flop
The first three community cards dealt face up on the board in Texas Holdem

Flush
You have a flush if you have 5 cards all of the same suit.

Fold
Where you throw your hand away.

Fold Equity
The extra value you gain by forcing the other players at a table to fold, instead of going to the showdown with you.

Forced Bet
An umbrella term that refers to compulsory bets, like blinds and antes.

Four Flush
Where you have four cards of the same suit - An incomplete drawing hand that needs one more card of that suit to win.

Four of a Kind
Also known as "quads" – where you have four cards of the same denomination.

Four Straight
When you have four cards in numerical order - Sometimes referred to as "four to a straight"

Fourth Street
Also known as “the turn” – the fourth community dealt face up on the table

Free Card
You are said to be getting a free card if no one places a bet after the flop. You will get to the turn for free, hence the name.

Freeroll
A type of online poker tournament where you are entry is basically free – instead of paying money, you will put up frequent player points or some other type of currency equivalent.

Freezeout
This is the most common type of poker tournament – Players keep playing until one person has all the chips.

Full House/Full Boat
A hand with three cards of one value and two of another value.
