Ignorant End/idiot End
The lower parts of a straight – if you have 5, 6 and the flop comes
7,8,9 – you have the low end of the straight and can be beaten by
a higher straight.
Implied Odds
The odds that your hand will improve after more cards have been dealt
– “Derek wouldn’t normally call with only a pair of
two’s, if he manages to flop a set, he knew he’d get paid
off” – This refers to implied odds – the money you can
expect to win if you make your hand.
Inside Straight
Also known as a "gutshot straight" – Where you have four
cards to a straight, but are missing the middle card – 4,5,_,7,8
In the Money
To make it far enough in a poker tournament that you make it into the
prize money.
In Turn
A player, or an action, is said to be in turn if that player is expected
to act next under the rules.
