M Ratio
This is an indication of how strong your chip stack is compared to how much it costs to play each in each rotation of the table. Basically, you can sit at the table, only putting in compulsory bets (blinds, antes, etc), for M laps of the dealer button before you run out of chips. The higher your M, the longer you can afford to wait before making a move. The M ratio only really applies to poker tournaments.

Made Hand
A made hand is a hand that doesn’t need any improvement to win – for instance, with a pair of aces you are entering the pot with a made hand.

Match the Pot
Where you put in chips equal to all the chips already in the pot.

Micro Limit
Refers to online card rooms, where the blinds are very low – perfect for beginners – ie. 5/10 cent

Move In
Applies to no limit holdem – the same as all in. Where a player bets every chip in front of them.

Muck/Mucking
• Throwing your cards away – “I decided to muck my 4-7 offsuit in early position”
• The pile of discarded cards – “James threw his pair of 3’s into the muck”

Multi Way Pot
Also known as a family pot – A pot with multiple players involved.
