The only way you are going to learn and improve at poker
is to actually play the game. All the strategy in the world can’t
make up for actual experience. Everything you have learned here will start
to make sense and become second nature after an hour or so at the tables.
To start playing, you’re going to download some software
– don’t worry, it’s 100% safe - I recommend Full Tilt
poker – they’re probably the best and safest poker room on
the internet today.
When you first login, you should probably play for free with
play chips at first, so that you can get a feeling for the game. Free
poker isn’t real poker. When people aren’t risking anything,
they don’t play how they normally would. People will call every
bet and play all the way to the river with a small pair because if they
get lose all their chips they can press a button and get them all back.
I suggest you play 15 minutes or so of free poker, then invest
$50 and have a go at some of the lower level tables – don’t
worry, this $50 will last you A LONG time. You can start playing real
poker for as little as 10 cents a hand and put to use what you’ve
learned here. Believe me, at those levels and with skills you’ve
learned here you’ll one of the best players at those tables.
